SCWR 385: Directing Comedy

This course introduces students to the core principles of directing comedic performance for the screen, with a focus on developing a strong comedic point of view, effective collaboration, and clear communication with actors and crew. Students will explore directing techniques through text analysis, casting, blocking, and rehearsing short comedic scenes, applying skills that will directly support their work in live and recorded sketch formats. By the end of the course, students will have developed the foundational skills needed to helm comedic productions, whether for film, television, or live sketch formats.
