Multiple Tenure-Line Faculty Positions in Computing
The School of Computing at DePaul University invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the level of assistant or associate professor. We are particularly interested in candidates in:

Over the last decade, the school faculty have secured more than $13.4M in NSF funding and consistently publish in selective conferences. The culture within the school emphasizes high-impact and high-quality research, rather than placing pressure on faculty to secure external funding or publish many papers. Nonetheless, the university provides extensive support for external funding, as well as a robust internal research grants program, including PhD stipends, graduate assistantships and course releases.

Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure Track) - Graphic Design (25-26)

Faculty in the School of Design are given many forms of support to launch or continue research and creative practice including exhibiting and presenting work at festivals, galleries, museums, and conferences. Qualifications
Candidates are expected to be able to teach theoretical and practical hands-on undergraduate and graduate level graphic design courses, including design foundations and advanced topics. We are seeking candidates who can shape and build our graduate programs by developing curricula within graphic design and across disciplines and advising graduate students. Candidates should have teaching experience in a design-related field, a proven record of professional practice, and a well-developed creative research agenda in design.
We are seeking applicants who are motivated to lead school-wide initiatives and can foster collaboration with colleagues and students across disciplines. Qualified candidates will be able to contribute to our curriculum and enhance the research and creative opportunities for our students by bringing a design practice informed by an understanding of contemporary issues in design and society. We are interested in a wide range of contemporary practices of (e.g., visual design, UX, product design, digital fabrication, emerging technologies, prototyping, service design, etc.), especially interdisciplinary practices which intersect with a range of impactful topics (e.g., accessibility, AI, ethics, design justice, civics & politics, sustainability, etc.).
Candidates must have a terminal degree (e.g., MFA, MDes) in graphic design or related field. Exceptions are made for candidates who have already attained recognition for scholarly or other relevant professional achievements and who give promise of continued academic development.
Preferred, but not required, experience in one or more of the following includes: partnership building across academia, industry, and community organizations; grants and fundraising, and leading curriculum efforts including developing and launching graduate degrees.

Term faculty in Game Design and Development (Non-tenure track) (25-26)
The School of Design within the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul University is seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track Instructor of game design and development to begin in September 2025. Job responsibilities include teaching, service, and continued professional development. DePaul is on the quarter system, and the teaching load is up to 8 courses total per academic year taught across the fall, winter, and spring quarters along with student advising responsibilities throughout the academic year.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or a graduate degree (MFA, MDes, MS, MA, or equivalent) in a related field or professional equivalence in a related field.
- Experience and proven commitment to quality teaching.
- Ability to teach project-based game design and development courses at the undergraduate level and across various related majors.
- Demonstrated record of creative practice or professional experience in the field.
- Expertise in one or more areas related to game design, including but not limited to: game production, technical game development, user experience design (UX) for games, games with a purpose beyond entertainment (such as social impact games), iterative game design, narrative game design/storytelling, emerging technology, physical/alternative controllers, game studies, game accessibility, interdisciplinary design.
- Credited contributions on at least one published game and/or recognition in the field for a game.
- Working knowledge of and ability to mentor students in at least one of the following game engines: Unity, Unreal, or Godot.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest and experience working with faculty and students on mentorship and advising at the undergraduate and graduate level
- Interest and experience building community and contributing to school-wide initiatives (e.g., game showcases, playtest events, game jams).
- Evidence of effective mentorship and/or collaboration in a professional context.
- Established network in the games community and/or industry.

Term Faculty (Non-Tenure Track) - Screenwriting (25-26)
The School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track Professional Lecturer position in Screenwriting in one of the most innovative and fastest-growing film schools in the country. The School of Cinematic Arts offers a concentration in Screenwriting for our BFA students, as well as an MFA in Screenwriting.
DePaul University is located in the heart of Chicago's vibrant Loop and Lincoln Park communities. In 2024, the School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) was ranked 11th in The Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of the top film schools in the country.
In SCA, there are currently over 2,000 students enrolled in the BA, BFA, BS, MS and MFA degree programs. The MFA degrees are in Film and Television Directing, Screenwriting, Creative Producing, Documentary, and Animation. Production resources include six full sound stages at Cinespace Studios, two green screen stages, production studios for motion capture, television, and sound, industry-standard camera packages, and a 4k digital cinema theatre.
Position begins in Fall Quarter 2025-26 (September 2025). Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in writing for film and television, committee service at the school and college level, supervising student projects, and continued professional development.
