CDM's Jarvis Student Center for Innovation and Collaboration is an 8,000 square-foot open space where students and faculty come together to ideate and innovate. The center focuses on multidisciplinary professional learning and industry partnerships fueled by emerging technologies and projects dedicated to societal needs and innovation.

Production Facilities

Students have access to our 60,000-square-foot professional production facility at Cinespace Studios Chicago, high-end editing suites and mixing studios, industry-standard equipment, and a host of post production and animation resources.

Students and faculty collaborate in our research labs and centers, which are equipped with the advanced technology, software, and experimental tools to support their research endeavors.

Idea Realization Lab

The IRL and IRL2 are student-driven makerspaces that encourages the pursuit of thinking through making. With locations in the Loop and Lincoln Park, IRL houses all types of creative equipment, from traditional woodshop tools to a variety of state-of-the-art fabrication tools, like 3D printers, thermal formers, laser cutters, sewing machines, and more.
