This programming class will present the rendering pipeline and basic shader creation. Students will create their own graphics package using a high-level graphics API such as Direct X. Performance issues will be considered as part of the API design. Topics covered include illumination techniques, Gouraud and Phong shading, antialiasing techniques, texture mapping, blending and environment mapping, reflection and hardware instancing.
